Warrior I Pose (Virabhadrasana I)

Warrior I Pose is a powerful pose that strengthens the legs, opens the hips, and improves balance. To practice this pose:

  • Start in Mountain Pose (Tadasana).
  • Step your right foot back and turn it out at a 45-degree angle.
  • Bend your left knee over your left ankle while keeping your right leg straight.
  • Extend your arms overhead with your palms facing each other.
  • Hold the pose for several breaths, then switch sides.

Warrior II Pose (Virabhadrasana II)

Warrior II Pose strengthens the legs, opens the hips, and improves balance and concentration. To practice this pose:

  • Begin in Mountain Pose (Tadasana).
  • Step your feet wide apart, with your right foot facing forward and your left foot turned in slightly.

  • Extend your arms out to the sides with your gaze over your right fingertips.

  • Shift your weight onto your right foot and extend your left leg back while parallel to the floor.

  • Engage your core and gaze at a fixed point to help with balance.
  • Hold the pose for several breaths before switching sides.
